Step 1. Submit an Interest Form
- Complete the Online Interest Form or call 704-565-9856 to reserve your spot.
- You’ll receive a confirmation email with details about the upcoming class, orientation, and available funding options.
Step 2. Attend Jennings O'Neil Career Academy Orientation
- Learn more about the training program, schedule, and career pathways.
- Bring a valid photo ID for verification.
- Orientation includes a brief skills and interest overview to help you prepare for enrollment.
Step 3. Prepare Required Documents for Funding Referral
- You’ll receive a Funding Application Packet and checklist.
- Gather the following (copies or photos accepted):
- Photo ID and Social Security Card
- Proof of address (utility bill, lease, or official mail)
- Proof of income or unemployment (if applicable)
- Proof of citizenship or work authorization
Step 4. Connect with Your Local Career Center or Funding Agency
- Schedule an orientation through your nearest Career Center, Workforce Office, or Partner Agency.
- Bring your Jennings Oneil Training Flyer and Cost Sheet to your case manager or funding representative.
- Tell your counselor you want to enroll in:
“Jennings Oneil Career Academy – Fiber Optic Certification Training (BDi/FOA Partnership)”
Step 5. Receive Funding Approval or Voucher
- Once your case manager or funding agency confirms eligibility, they’ll issue a Training Authorization Voucher (ITA) or Funding Approval Notice.
- Submit a copy of your voucher or confirmation to info@jo-ca.org to finalize enrollment.
Step 6. Attend Class & Begin Training
- Start Date: TBD
- Location: Jennings O’Neil Career Academy
- Bring a notebook and valid ID on the first day.
- You’ll receive hands-on instruction, career coaching, and job placement assistance.
