The Youth Drummer Program is a dynamic, skill-building experience designed to empower young people through rhythm, creativity, and teamwork. This program introduces students to the fundamentals of percussion while strengthening their confidence, discipline, and musical expression.

Program Purpose

The goal of the Youth Drummer Program is to cultivate musical talent, improve coordination, and create a positive, motivating environment where youth can discover their unique sound. Students will learn not only how to play drums, but how to channel focus, emotion, and energy into constructive artistic growth.

What Students Will Learn

Students receive hands-on, progressive instruction in:

• Proper drumstick grip and striking techniques
• Drum set basics (snare, bass, toms, cymbals)
• Rhythm counting, timing, and tempo control
• Reading simple drum notation
• Coordination and limb independence
• Playing as part of a band or ensemble
• Stage presence, confidence, and performance readiness

Program Structure

• Weekly sessions (60–90 minutes)
• Combination of group lessons and individual practice
• Access to practice pads and percussion equipment
• Opportunities for performance at community events, church services, and youth showcases

Who Can Join

• Youth ages 8–18
• No previous experience required
